This summer, the lavender has been growing beautifully
in my garden structure.
It has been attracting bees, and partitioning on garden from the rest of
the neighborhood.
Since all the flowers were almost gone,
it was time to cut and get ready for drying.
I was able to get 5 bundles of lavenders,
I tied with twine and hung them to dry
for about 2 weeks.
At first I thought it would be perfect in the laundry room,
but unless you like the smell of hay drying,
the garage is much better!
To remove all the little "grains"
I rubbed them together
and collected them all,
well almost!
I have more than 6 cups!
Yeah!
I will be able to make many little bags
to perfume and preserve all
of our clothes and linen.
After all, lavender has many properties!
Here is a beautiful embroidery my sister made for me.
It is cross stitched on linen.
Happy day!
I never even thought about growing lavender. I thought you could only do that in Provence. Hehe. Just like home for you. I love the smell of lavender and I might try this myself now that you showed me how to harvest and dry it.
