on winning fabric

I rarely enter giveaways,
not that I do not enjoy them but the odds are usually not good,
after all it is easily 1chance in 300 or 400 or even thousands....
Well for this one, I did not realize I was entering it,
I just loved the project and left a comment,
so I was quite surprised to hear I had won,
and no, it was not so bogus lottery in far away land!

It was a gift certificate for Sew Mama Sew!

Wanna see what I chose?

Mechanical Genius by Mo Bedell,
extremely cool boy fabric,
may be Brick Master is not too old for this fabric!
You can see here and here some great ideas with this fabric collection,
from the designer's blog: lime gardenias.

Now it is decision time: what am I going to make?

Happy sewing!

mittens winner and Holiday card

Since only 2 people entered my mittens giveaway,
I decided to send both of them
their choice of mittens:

Red for Debbie B
and
Blue for Caroline,
congratulations ladies!

I just received my Holiday card

and I think it turned out pretty cut!
(even if a little too dark!)
Now I just need to write them!

It is the season to be very busy!

Happy Day!

PS: Debbie B, please email me your address!

the 12 days of mitten: the end and a giveaway

We are done with the 12 days of mittens,
I had a great time and a lot of fun.
But what a pressure!
Posting everyday
(well almost, I had to take the day off for my anniversary!)
is hard work....I will be going back to a more leisurely approach,
a couple times a week.

If anybody is making/will be making mittens,
I would love to see pictures,
it would be fun to have a special mitten day,
I guess it will depends on how many mittens are made!

After overwhelming you with mittens,
it is only fair to give some away.
So here it is the mitten giveaway:
4 handmade mittens in the color of your choice:
red, blue, green, pink/purple(2 of each color), or one of each.

Just leave a comment telling me the color of your choice,
Miss C. will choose a number on December 1st,
we are still old school, but her math skills are improving and
counting to infinity is her new goal (daughter of nerdy scientists!)

So go ahead one more time
and make some mittens!
How to: here and here.

I won beautiful ornaments

Last week I entered a giveaway
and I won!

Today I received my beautiful ornaments:

I took a few pictures of them in our big Christmas tree:

I better enjoy them now
because as soon as Miss C. get off the bus,
she will take them
and put them in her pink Christmas tree!

Are you interested in making your own?
Caroline has a tutorial for them.

Or even better she has another giveaway!

Happy sewing!

surprise in the mail

Yesterday I received this package in the mail:

The dogs and I love to go to the mail box,
it is one of the fun moments of the day,
I know, it is pretty slow here,
with the kids at school!

So getting a package is a definite plus, at least for me,
the dogs just want to check the front yard!

It came from Donna of My Shabby Chateau,
she was the winner of my giveaway

She made me this lovely lavender pillow!
I wish I could keep it,
but Miss C. walked by and took off with it,
declaring : "it smells nice Mama, I need it"!

Merci Donna!

Happy day!

Here is the winner of the olive fabric giveaway:

Miss C. chose number 7:

Donna, from My Shabby Chateau.
Enjoy!

P.S. We are a little behind schedule....
the kids went to Texas to Grandpa and Grandma last week!
But we are all back together now!

Happy day!

olive goodness, part III and a giveaway

For the past few days,
I have shown you my new pillows,
inspired by the fabric my Mom sent me.

I have also used these fabric as pictures for this IKEA frame:

The middle picture is from the Graphics Fairy.

I used it just above my stove in the remodel kitchen.

Today is an anniversary,
I arrived in the USA 14 years ago!

So to celebrate this special day,
I am giving to one of you some of
my olive fabric, sent from Provence.

These pieces are on the smaller size as they are remnants
of my projects but there are still good olive pictures on them.

I am also including 2 other fabrics from Provence,
but with lavender on them.
These are larger, about 10 inch and the full width.

Here it is all together.
To win:
leave me a comment!
Tell me how you would use it .

It will be opened until August 14
when Miss C. will choose a number
(we are going for hi tech here!)

*giveaway is now closed*
Happy day!
