the 2018 Dandelions

It is no surprise that I made 2 dandelions for this Christmas:

I have been making them for the past few years, they are some of my favorites gifts to make. Here are most of them:

Dandelion 1 and 2, Dandelion 3, Dandelion 4, Dandelion 5, Dandelion 6 and 7. 
I always try to vary some details, and use different Liberty of London to make their dresses and ears.
The pattern is from Posie, it is mostly hand sewn, except for the dress. There is also a knitted little shawl, but I do not knit well, so I usually skip that part!

Because I was a little rush for time,

I also skipped the embroidery on the boot,

it is a super cute details but a little too time consuming right now!

They still are lovely and a fun gift to make:

my own dandelion, and 8th blogging anniversary!

It is official, I have my own Dandelion: And she is perfect, even if a little pale....

Previously I made more traditional doe in various shades of brown:

I shared these 2 dandelions last December, here.

but this time I tried lighter color, I might even go crazy and go with a pastel color next time....

I also made one for Miss C., you probably saw her during Christmas:

as she posed perfectly under the tree. This doe also wears a Liberty of London dress, with a nice cotton lace, and as usual embroidered boots.
Miss Dandelion supervises my sewing table:

dressed in a fine Liberty of London dress, with embroidered felt boots, and even an poorly knitted scarf!
She is good company, never mentions the mess or the pile of unfinished projects.....
Today is also the anniversary of this little blog: 8 years later, I am still having fun!

the new and lovely Dandelions are here....

Last year, just before Christmas, I shared my unclothed Dandelions, well all of them have found their new owner, fully clothed.
Today I am sharing the first two:

this one dressed in a red Liberty of London dress with a delicate French cotton lace

 and pink embroidered red felt boots;

and 

this one wears a simpler Liberty of London dress

and blue embroidered flowers on royal blue boots.

Just like in the previous year,

the deer are made of felt,

following this pattern from Posie.

They are super sweet,

I love making them, using many Liberty of London prints.

I am so happy I made one for myself,

which I will share soon!

Happy New Year

I wish you all a Happy New Year! Je vous souhaite une bonne et heureuse annee.

Miss Dandelion is here with me to usher in the new year, nothing new is planned, just a little sewing, crafting and eating, as usual.....just keep swimming, I mean sewing!

my little Dandelions are coming along

My new set of Dandelion doe(s) is really coming along, I have now 4 new friends

who will be leaving me shortly.... well one is staying with me, but to keep everything a secret as much as possible, I will not say with one!
They are still missing their little black nose, but I have already sewn their little Liberty of London dresses.

Some have laces (heirloom or regular), some are more simple, and of course there are the boots. I still have 2 more pairs to make, I love adding the embroidery details on the side of the boots and of course matching them to the dresses.

Aren't they so cute with their little Liberty of London ears?
Next time you see them, they will be all dressed up, but only after Christmas.

stitching body parts

It is the time of the year when sewing as to remain kind of secretive.... but for this part, I can share:

legs and arms of upcoming deer! (not as scary as the title may let you to believe)
This year I am making again some Dandelion doe, just like last year.
Here are the four deer I made last Christmas:

the one on the left was for my mom (here), the one on the right was for my sister (here).

the one on the left was for my niece K (here)

and this last deer was for my mother in law (here).
So if you wanted one last year and did not get one, may be this year is your year!
This season, they do not need to travel, so I am taking my time sewing them. There is a fair amount of hand sewing, and since I am done with my intense cross stitching advent calendar, it has become my new evening activity. I will share them as I finish them, but I am planning on keeping one for me!
